What is the Interactive Family Group at Jupiter Counseling?

Jupiter Counseling has always taken pride in the programs that we have to offer, and we are please to announce the start of yet another program to help make your transition into sobriety just that much better. We now offer Interactive Family Counseling at Jupiter!

What is Interactive Family Counseling ? It’s a new type of group for adolescents in out Outpatient Program through our Transformations Program. This group allows certain clients to meet with their family once a week to learn healthy communication patterns and new recovery tools. We understand that family is important to your sobriety, and we believe that family therapy is essential for you in your program. It interacts between different families as well to help provide the guidance and support that is needed by all parties to ensure a successful rehabilitation for our clients.

Addiction affects the family as a whole, not just the person with the dependancy. It only makes sense that we should offer a program to help the family heal from these experiences. Individual Counseling Helps Addicts Recover More Smoothly

It’s no secret that we all need a little help from time to time.  There’s nothing to be ashamed of, no need to feel intimidated. An Individual Treatment Plan or Individual Counseling can be better for many individuals than group settings for many reasons. Sometimes it’s nerve wracking having to share in front of others, or  perhaps you’re just not at that stage in your recovery. It can be tweaked and tailored to suit your exact needs.

Individual therapy can also give you a chance to more closely examine the reasons that made you decide to make a change, or need to spend more time deciding where you’d like to be when you’re sober. No matter the reason, you’re able to spend more time on some aspects of your therapy. You can really get to know your counselor, and they can get to really know you in return. It creates a more personal bond between patient and counselor, one that may not be achieved by group therapy.

Making the right decision about the recovery program may start by knowing what I can expect from an outpatient treatment center. Sitting down with a trained recovery specialist, like one of the counselors from Jupiter Counseling, can help me to understand the process. The more I learn about recovery, the better my choices will be for overcoming my addiction.

Learning What I Can Expect from an Outpatient Treatment Center

- Outpatient treatment will provide more availability for remaining in my current employment. I can meet with a recovery counselor and work out a schedule that will keep me on the job.

- Build an arsenal of encouragement. Print out articles or sayings that give you some encouragement. Make a recording of songs that give you a lift. Find a place that you can go to recharge and refocus. The more ways you can create your own encouragement the easier it will be to stay on the path to recovery.
