The Jupiter Counseling team believes strongly in the positive outcomes and success of our client’s. No matter what their area of expertise, their belief in every patient’s ability to succeed means the world to our clients and their loved ones. The goal of each team member is to compassionately, confidentially, and professionally guide you and your loved ones through every phase of your recovery.

SARAH R. SACKS, LCSW, CAP, Executive Director, has worked as a professional in the field of mental health and chemical dependency since 1996. She specializes in dual-diagnosis, treating both addiction and co-existing psychiatric conditions; and has maintained private practice since 2000. She is the CEO of Jupiter Counseling at River Place, and the Intensive Outpatient Program, Transformations at jupiter Counseling.

A graduate from Barry University she completed her Masters Degree in Social Work in 1997, and has worked for the Comprehensive Alcohol Rehabilitation center (CARP) in the medical detoxification unit and residential program. She formerly worked for Hospice of Palm Beach and Columbia Pavilion, Psychiatric Hospital as their Dual-Diagnosis Counselor. Sacks is affiliated with the National Association of Social Work, and has served as President Elect for National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors, and still a proud member of NAADAC. She is well known and respected in the community for her integrity and commitment to her clients.

PHILIPPE MARTINEAU, M.D.,Psychiatrist, has been practicing medicine since 1986, completing his residency in Psychiatry at Brookdale Hospital in New York City in 1997.A resident of Palm Beach County since 1998, he was the Medical Director of Columbia Hospital until 2007. Dr. Martineau is a well known Addictionologist whose empathy, compassion and understanding for addicts, alcoholics and his patients with psychiatric issues, are well known in the treatment community.

Lisa Kahl, BA, CCJAP, Intensive Outpatient Counselor, graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelor’s Degree, a dual major, Psychology and Criminology in 2003. Lisa is also a Florida Certified Targeted Case Manager. Ms. Kahl  was a counselor/advocate and supervisor for a transitional housing program for domestic violence victims and their children for 2 years. She has also developed an Substance Abuse Intensive Inpatient program and Anger Management within Department of Corrections. Lisa uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Enhancement Therapy techniques to increase successful outcomes in recovery for her clients. 

AMANDA ALEMAN, Admissions/Outreach Coordinator, has over 9 years of experience and is well-versed in the administrative aspects of this field and gives the best possible service to our clients when calling or coming into our facility. Amanda also handles our Human Resources with hiring employees and their pre-screening requirements. Amanda is also waiting to sit for her certification as an Addictions Counselor.
